The edition is dedicated to the First Russian Art Exhibition that Dyaghilev organised in 1906. The event had great international success and defined Diaghilev's career.
There were the best works by M. Vrubel, V. Serov, K. Korovin, as well as F. Malyavin, K. Somov, A. Benois, L. Bakst, I. Grabar, B. Kustodiev, O. Ostroumova-Lebedeva, and early works by P. Kuznetsov and M. Larionov (the catalogue was compiled by A. Benois).
Lower edge is heavily rubbed, middle of the spine is detached from the text block. One loosely inserted leaf.
