The photo is pasted on a branded passe-partout. Size: 16.5 x 10.5cm. On the back an inscription in black ink: "To the handsome Alexander Vladimirovich Razvozov, irreplaceable companion cabin from Dr. V. Kravchenko, 13.VIII.1899. Steamship Dnepr" and the owner's inscriptions in French.

From the archive of the family of Rear Admiral Alexander Vladimirovich Razvozov (1879 - 1920).

 

Vladimir Semenovich Kravchenko (1873-1927) was a marine doctor of the cruiser Prince Pozharsky, the steamer Dnepr, the battleship Sisoy the Great, the cruisers Izumrud and Aurora. Participant of the Tsushima battle. He used an X-ray apparatus in ship conditions for the first time in history immediately after the battle (Tsushima) for the rapid detection of bullet fragments and bone fractures.
