A) Comœdia Illustré, The 1st Year, all issues of the period 15.12.1908 - 15.9.1909. Michel de Brunhoff, Imprimérie Kapp, Paris 32 x 24,5 cm; P. 2-526 and II-XII. Case bound with gilt design of the spine and front cover. Pages slightly yellowed, with wear of the edges. Complete copy is in very good condition. B) Comœdia Illustré, 6th Year, all issues of 1913. Michel de Brunhoff, Imprimérie Kapp, Paris 31 x 24,5 cm; P. 6-1089. Case bound. The are numerous b/w photographs and colored illustrations inside. Several illustrations are restored. Minor wear of the extremities, few stains on the covers. Few leaves are detached. In very good overall condition. The magazine Comoedia Illustre is an appendix to the Parisian magazine Comoedia, which existed from 1907 to 1937. The best French magazine in the field of ballet, opera and theater, published once a month between December 1908 and March 1909, and then twice a month. In the period from 1907 to 1920, the magazine was practically a magazine of Diaghilev's “Russian Seasons”. Entire issues of the magazine were made out by Russian artists and were devoted to Diaghilev's productions. The magazine is a unique chronicle of Russian seasons and an invaluable source of information for fans of this period. Numerous photographs of famous ballet dancers - Nizhinsky, Karsavina, Pavlova, Ida Rubinstein, Matilda Kshesinskaya, sketches of scenery and costumes, performed by Bakst, Alexandre Benois, Somov, etc.
