The publication about El. Lissitzky's book "Had Gadya" ("Goat") reflects all the stages of the artist's work on it. Presented is a copy of a hand-drawn "Moscow version” of the book of 1917 from the collection of the State Tretyakov Gallery, reproductions of preparatory gouache sketches for the book, made in the winter of 1919 from the collection of the Tel Aviv Art Museum, as well as a facsimile copy of the book itself, published in the same year in Kiev by the publishing house Culture -League. Introductory article by Anatoly Emdin. The book was distributed only by subscription among noble Jewish families and bibliophiles in Russia, Europe and the USA. Copies of this book are only in three museums: the State Tretyakov Gallery (Moscow), the Tel Aviv Art Museum, and Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts (Moscow).
