Crimea Medal 1854-1856 with clasps "Balaklava", "Inkerman", "Sevastopol". British Empire, 1855 - 1860. Royal Mint. Medalist Benjamin Vaillon (1802 - 1858), on the reverse at the bottom right, the inscription "B. WYON. SC.

Diameter: 36 mm. Silver, silk, moire. No inscription on the edge. Condition - good, medal and 2 clasps were cleaned.


The medal was established on December 15, 1854 to reward members of the British Army, Royal Navy and Marine Corps for their participation in the fighting against Russia in the Crimea during the Eastern War. The total number of allied medals was 235,000, and they were almost identical to the awards for British military personnel with the exception of some minor details.
