Military medal (Médaille militaire) for the Crimea (Eastern) War. On an original ribbon. France, 1852 -1870. Paris Mint. Medalist Jean-Auguste Barre (1811-1896), signed "BARRE" at the bottom of the reverse.
Size: 46.5 x 26.5 mm.
Silver, gilding, enamel, silk, moire. Good condition.
The award was first established in 1852 by the first President of the French Republic, Louis-Napoleon Bonaparte.
