Established on December 24, 1813 in Frankfurt am Main by King Friedrich Wilhelm III of Prussia. Approximately 340 thousand medals were made from 9300 kg of bronze from French guns.
Medals have the grit inscription "Aus Erobertem Geschuetz" ("From captured guns"). Medal 1813-1814 was also awarded and Russian soldiers - allies in the war with Napo
