OlGA GERR (GEB. 1954). MARIE ANTOINETTE AND MARIE STUART AFFECTED BY THE BLOODTHIRSTY

Olga Gerr was born in Leningrad in 1954.

She graduated from the Serov Art School in Leningrad in 1977. In 1983 she became a student of the Leningrad State Institute of Theatre, Music and Cinematography named after N.K. Cherkasov, Class of М.А. Smirnov. She graduated in 1989 with the diploma of a theatre designer.

After graduation she worked as a designer in various theatres/ cities of the former SU, later in the Russian Federation and in foreign countries.

From 1999 onwards she worked in the Saratov Academic Theatre named after K. Marx, first as their Guest Designer, then as the Lead Designer. During her work in Saratov she designed sets and costumes for around 20 plays. She also worked simultaneously in other theatres of the country which amounted to over 100 plays.

Her concurrent interest was in Doll Art and Toy Art.

She participated in Doll Art Salons in Russia, France, Estonia, Latvia, e.g. Doll Art Exhibitions in Moscow and St. Petersburg held since 2010, International Doll Art Salon in Sevres, France, in 2009, Doll Art Festival in Riga, Latvia from 2015 to 2018 (European Professional Doll Art Festival) and others.

She has had 5 one-artist exhibitions of her own in the Toy Museum, St. Petersburg, the Narva National Art Gallery, Estonia, the Russian Drama Theatre in Riga, Latvia.

Her previous personal exhibitions were in Daegu, South Korea in 2006, in St. Petersburg Mariinsky Theatre (Paintings) in 2008, in Voronezh Kamerny Theatre, 2017, and in Nice, France –

as part of d’Art Naif Exhibition, 2019.

Her works are exhibited in the Toy Museum of St. Petersburg, in the Narva National Art Gallery, Estonia, and in many private collections and art galleries both in Russia and abroad
