ART-DECO. ERTE. NEW APPEARANCE.
4 December is the 125-year anniversary of the artist, graphic, master of art-deco, fashion designer – Erte (born as Romain de Tirtoff). The KABINETT Gallery’s exhibition of the graphics and aquarelles is devoted to this date.
Erte changed his name, as he has left St. Petersburg for Paris in 1912. He began to work as a stage and costume designer. He worked closely with Paul Poiret and designed costumes for such ballet and stage stars as Mata Hari, Anna Pavlova, George Balanchine and Lilian Gish. Erte also created a number of covers for Harper’s Bazaar and Vogue magazine.
In the KABINETT gallery are displayed about 30 items from his immense heritage.
